often i’m asked for undeniable proof that the web of life is an instument to be played. that life exists just sideways from here and that i, whatever i am, can play it.

storms and earthquakes, nuclear bombs, planets dancing, all of it. on request, on time and true, yet nothing seems to prove to you, or to me for that matter. i watch the past slip and slide and reconfigure, watch my memories fall and change to mis-remembered, simply wrong. and everything always was as it is, nothin odd has happened.

well. perhaps extreme measures are called for, and self-created race.

will the technological shift ordained and expected win the race against the loss of light and life as the fusion bomb ignites in the perfect spot – the lagrange point – between earth and moon.

seen from off the elliptic – say where that last nz meteorite originated – a gigantic, scintilating, figure eight of something bright, growing round them both.

that’s what i’m working on, the counterstroke to balance out the beautiful dream.
